Discussion:
Are all REM songs sung by Michael Stipe?
(too old to reply)

I'm not sure about this, as recently I read about Mills singing some of
the songs. If Stipe is not the only singer in REM, then is there any
place where can I get information about the singer for individual
songs?

I started listening to REM not so long ago and they're my favorite now
:)

There's the R.E.M. Frequently Asked Questions page maintained by Ron
Henry at
<http://people2.clarityconnect.com/webpages6/ronhenry/remfaq.htm>,
though I'm not sure that question is covered. Read it and find out! ;-)

Off the top of my head 2 songs where Mike Mills sings leads are:

"Superman" (a cover) found on Lifes Rich Pageant (yes the band dropped
the apostrophe.) This is a most excellent album - a must!

"Near Wild Heaven" can be found on Out Of Time.

Lately in concert he sings lead on "(Don't Go Back To) Rockville,"
although on the album Reckoning and live in the '80s Stipe sang lead.

There's probably a B-side or two that I'm forgetting. He's certainly
very prominent on "Love Is All Around."

Where Mills really shines is singing harmony which seemed more common in
the early years.

Peter Buck can be heard singing the lead vocal on "The Wayward Wind" on
a bootleg from the '80s. It's a, um...curiosity. ;-)

I'll let others fine tune my response with more complete answers. As
we're hurting for posts I don't feel bad about being lazy and not
looking up the complete answer to your question.
